About Us

Our doulas have professional training and certification as birth doulas through DONA International. They hold certification as Childbirth Educators and Postpartum Doulas through CAPPA, the Childbirth Postpartum Professional Association. Additionally, they are Certified Lactation Counselors through a national organization, The Center for Breastfeeding. They have the tools required to assist you in understanding the process of giving birth and can give you information to help you make informed decisions.

Philosophy of Doula Care
Doula care, like birth, cannot be scripted. It should be organic in nature, free to flow with the changing needs and desires of the birthing woman. An experienced doula is able to respond to the unique needs and desires of each birth the use of her intuition, training knowledge of the birth process, and ability identify the birthing woman's philosophy and emotional needs, both spoken and silent.
Postpartum Care
A postpartum doula works with the family to create a peaceful atmosphere in the home during the first days of family bonding. She can be a wonderful helper and friend for the new mother and her family.
